Aqua Shard

"Meet me at London Bridge at 6"...

My hubby and I recently celebrated 9 years of marriage with a lovely dinner high above London at Aqua Shard; located on level 31 of The Shard.

Aqua Shard serves contemporary British food, and serves it very well. The food is delicious and the service is warm and inviting.
I was a little disappointed with my starter, which was basically a tomato... for £16! Even my hubbs kept asking me "but isn't that just a tomato?" to which I kept answering, "yes. Yes it is."
But the main... oh the main. Who knew cauliflower could taste so good. It was roasted with garlic, some flaked almonds and a sweet pear puree. I didn't want it to end. Am I the only person in the world that hadn't tried roasted cauliflower? Why didn't anyone tell me it was so splendid?
Dessert was sorbet, as is often the case when looking for a dairy free dessert. A nice light way to end the meal and an excuse for some more red wine.

The restaurant wasn't too busy and there was no sense of being hurried by the waiters (which I can't stand!), so we were able to just relax and enjoy the view, the food and the good times.

Cheers!

So many mirrors!

Yum!

Respect our Gangsta...
By the time we emerged a few hours later I was feeling as fuzzy as that last picture!

A perfect anniversary treat.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Ekaete xx
