Barcelona Photo Diary

March 02, 2016

Last weekend the hubby and I snuck away for a very quick break in Barcelona. This was my second visit to this beautiful city and although brief, we had an absolutely brilliant time.
As we weren't staying long, we got a very early flight and so ended up having to leave our house at about 4am... needless to say, I spent the flight over asleep.

After landing, we made our way to the 'Las Ramblas' area and spent the first half of the day looking around the shops, eating tapas, drinking sangria (so cliche) and wandering through La Boqueria market, sampling various sweet treats which were on offer!

Finally, later in the afternoon, we made our way to the W Hotel which was to be our home for the night. The hotel is fabulous. Great staff, amazing views of the ocean and just such a fun vibe. The lovely gentleman on reception upgraded our room free of charge and we hurried up to have a look around.
Does anyone else get to their hotel room and immediately:
a) check the bathroom?
b) bounce on the bed?
and c) stare out the window?
Without fail, these 3 things are like top priority when getting to my hotel room. I have no idea why!
Anyway, we chilled out for a bit and then treated ourselves to some pampering in their bliss spa with a couple of glasses of champagne.

Excuse my nails... they were fixed after this picture!

That night we had dinner at the Bravo restaurant in the hotel and then moved up to their club Eclipse to dance the night away 26 floors above Barcelona. Now I don't have any pictures of this part of the evening. The sangria, champagne and now coffee patron shots that my husband decided would be a good idea meant that the night is a little... blurry?  I found some interesting snaps on my snapchat the next morning (ekaete84 for those who are on snapchat and want to be friends!) and basically flew home like this:

All in all, a fun little getaway which we are still giggling about now :)
Where's everyone else off to this year? Let's dream of sunshine because right now, in London anyway, the weather is pretty miserable!
